  8. is unwilling to license the software to you, in which event you 
  9. should press the "cancel" button to exit install and delete the 
  10. Software from your system.

  15. property of Symantec or its licensers and is protected by copyright 
  16. law.  While Symantec continues to own the Software, you will have 
  17. certain limited rights to use the Software after your acceptance of 
  18. this license.  Except as may be modified by a license addendum which 
  19. accompanies this license, your rights and obligations with respect to 
  20. the use of this Software are as follows:

  22. YOU MAY:

  24. (i) use one copy of the Software on a single computer for a period of 
  25. 30 days for the purpose of evaluating whether to purchase an ongoing 
  26. license to the Software;

  28. (ii) make one copy of the Software for archival purposes, or copy the 
  29. software onto the hard disk of your computer and retain the original 
  30. for archival purposes; and
  31.  
  32. (iii) make an unlimited number of copies of the Software and give 
  33. copies to other persons or entities as long as (a) the copies contain 
  34. this Agreement and the same copyright and other proprietary notices 
  35. that appear on or in the Software, (b) such copies of the software are 
  36. distributed only in the complete, original form, without any 
  37. modification, (c) each user installing the Software after such 
  38. distribution is informed that the Software is a non-registered 
  39. version of Visual Page for which a registered license must be 
  40. purchased if used beyond 30 days, and (d) if you have a publically 
  41. available web site, you include an active link to the Visual Page 
  42. home page at the Symantec web site.

  44. YOU MAY NOT:

  46. (i) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, translate, make 
  47. any attempt to discover the source code of the Software, or create 
  48. derivative works from the Software;
  49.  
  50. (ii) continue using the Software after the 30-day evaluation period 
  51. unless you have purchased a license for the Software;
  52.  
  53. (iii) represent or otherwise indicate that you are an agent of 
  54. Symantec or make any representations, warranties or other 
  55. agreements on behalf of Symantec;
  56.  
  57. (iv) bundle the Software or otherwise distribute it (a) in connection 
  58. with any product or service that contains information, statements, 
  59. representations, etc. that are legally objectionable, or items that are 
  60. scandalous, offensive or otherwise in poor taste.

  62. Warranty Disclaimer:

  64. SYMANTEC MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES ABOUT THE 
  65. SUITABILITY OF THIS SOFTWARE FOR ANY PURPOSE. THE SOFTWARE IS 
  66. PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, 
  67. INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A 
  68. PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NONINFRINGEMENT. THIS SOFTWARE IS 
  69. PROVIDED GRATUITOUSLY AND, ACCORDINGLY, SYMANTEC SHALL NOT

  76. REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ANY REMEDY SET FORTH HEREIN FAILS OF ITS 
  77. ESSENTIAL PURPOSE, IN NO EVENT WILL SYMANTEC BE LIABLE TO YOU 
  78. FOR ANY SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR SIMILAR DAMAGES, 
  79. INCLUDING ANY LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA ARISING OUT OF THE USE 
  80. OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE EVEN IF SYMANTEC HAS BEEN 
  81. ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

  83. Compliance With Applicable Law:

  85. You agree to abide by the copyright law and all other applicable laws 
  86. of the United States and every other jurisdiction where the 
  87. Software may be distributed, including, but not limited to, export 
  88. control laws.  You specifically acknowledge that the Software may 
  89. not be exported to Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Sudan or Syria, 
  90. or any other countries that may be so designated under United States 
  91. law.  You acknowledge that the Software in source code form remains 
  92. a confidential trade secret of Symantec and/or its suppliers and 
  93. therefore you agree not to modify the Software or attempt to 
  94. decipher, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the Software, 
  95. except to the extent applicable laws specifically prohibit such
  96. restriction.

  98. U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS:

  100. Restricted rights legend.  Use, duplication, or disclosure by the 
  101. Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in subparagraph 
  102. (c) (1) (ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software 
  103. clause at DFARS 252.227-7013 or subparagraphs (c) (1) and (2) of 
  104. the Commercial Computer Software-Restricted Rights clause at 
  105. 48 CFR 52.227-19, as applicable, Symantec Corporation,

  110. If you distribute copies of the Software, you unconditionally agree to 
  111. indemnify Symantec and its affiliates for any claims, expenses, 
  112. losses, damages of any kind arising directly or indirectly from your 
  113. distribution of the Software.

  115. Termination:

  117. Symantec may terminate the right to use and/or distribute the 
  118. Software upon notice to you (which may be delivered by any means, 
  119. including electronically by the same means as this Software is 
  120. distributed by Symantec), and you may terminate this license at any 
  121. time by destroying or erasing your copy of the Software.  Upon 
  122. termination of this license, you must discontinue all use and 
  123. distribution of the Software, remove the Software from your system 
  124. and destroy any copies of the Software in your possession or control.

  129. California, United States.  This Agreement may only be modified 
  130. by a license addendum which accompanies this license or by a
